Air-fried shishito peppers make for a quick and tasty appetizer, especially when tossed with soy sauce, lime, honey, and ginger.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 6 ounces shishito peppers
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon grated fresh ginger

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Preheat an air fryer to 390 degrees F (199 degrees C).
  2. 2 Toss peppers with oil in a medium bowl to coat. Place peppers in the air fryer basket. Cook until blistered and tender, shaking basket halfway through, 6 to 7 minutes.
  3. 3 Meanwhile, combine soy sauce, lime juice, honey, and ginger in the same medium bowl. Add cooked peppers and toss to coat. Serve warm.

These roasted peppers make a great side for a grilled steak. If you prefer to serve as an appetizer, you can plan on 8 appetizer servings.


  1. I did cook the peppers less: 5 minutes total, and they were lovely. Subbed in Bees Knees Spicy Honey for an extra kick. Yummy!
  2. I wasn’t sure what to expect. I got the peppers in my Misfits Market box. I was very nervous what to do with it and figured this sounded decent. I can’t stop eating them! So good!
  3. I am not a big fan of soy sauce. the air fryer instructions were fine. when the peppers are done, i place them in a bowl and toss with feta cheese and toasted pine nuts
  4. Perfect as written! These would go with so many different things including grilled salmon steak or any grilled meat for that matter. I served them as a side dish but already plan on making them as an appetizer for the next football party.
