Simple, sweet, filling, and wholesome. A great way to use fresh apples and cider during the autumn.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup chopped fresh apple (with skin)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add apple and brown sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
  2. 2 Stir in oats, apple cider, milk, cinnamon, and salt and cook, stirring frequently, until oatmeal is creamy and thickened, about 3 minutes.
