Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 (8 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 2 teaspoons apple juice
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
  • 2 eggs

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. 2 Mix the sweetened condensed milk with applesauce in a saucepan, and thin with apple juice. Whisk in cinnamon; bring to a boil. Beat the eggs in a bowl; whisk 1 tablespoon of the hot applesauce mixture into the eggs; whisk 1 more tablespoon of applesauce mixture into the eggs, and repeat, mixing in 1 tablespoon at a time, until about 1/3 of the applesauce mixture is whisked into the eggs. Return the egg mixture to the saucepan with the remaining applesauce mixture, and whisk until smooth. Pour the filling into the crust.
  3. 3 Bake until the filling is set, about 1 hour; allow to cool before serving. Refrigerate leftovers.

  1. All 4 of us enjoyed this pie. The texture was a bit odd and the crust was quite soggy but the flavor was good. I used cinnamon applesauce to add a little more flavor. I'd make this again if I had all the ingredients on hand.
  2. Decided to double the recipe because I had 2 graham cracker crusts that needed to be used. Glad I made extra of the filling because I wouldn't have had enough to fill the 1st pie if I hadn't doubled it. I ended up adding raisins, walnuts, and oatmeal to the remaining batter and baked it - Read more ...
  3. Followed recipe exactly. I don't know what I expected but this was very bland. Noone in my house wanted seconds.
  4. I made this recipe today and it wasn't overly flavorful but served warm out of the oven I must say it is a nice comfort food. Made two of them as I was looking for a dessert that would be easy to digest for a relative with cancer and this one fit the bill. I - Read more ...
  5. absolutely wonderful! I used fresh apples peeled diced and boiled with a small amount of water and splenda to sweeten. Also used egg substitute and added some coconut. This has become a family favorite and is so simple.
  6. This was just OK for us. I like the flavor but the texture doesn't appeal to me - creamy yet wet. I added a bit of vanilla extract to mine. Also I think I would prefer a regular pasty pie shell instead of the graham cracker crust.
  7. I was looking for something different to make and tried this. I doubled the recipe and made 2 pies. Baked them for about 55 minutes and they turned out great! Loved the texture and tasted great!
  8. Very good I left out the milk and eggs used chunky applesauce..even better!
  9. I tripled the recipie to make two pies, I always fill the pans to the top, . It was super easy and I was amazed how awesome they turned out. It has a creamy texture not unlike a cheese cake. So far everyone loves it. Totally bringing them for the Christmas dessert!
