Bacon, olives and cheese together make this an appetizer a hit. I have made it many times and everyone loves it.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 10 slices white bread, crusts trimmed
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar processed cheese sauce
  • 1 (5 ounce) jar pitted green olives, chopped
  • 1 pound sliced bacon, cut in half

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Preheat the broiler
  2. 2 Cut bread into thirds. Spread each third with processed cheese sauce. Sprinkle with olives. Roll thirds jelly-roll fashion. Wrap each with half a strip of bacon, securing with toothpicks. Arrange wrapped bread rolls in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
  3. 3 Broil, checking frequently, until bacon is evenly browned and has reached desired crispness, about 5 minutes.

Reviews

  1. This is a hit! But you will save yourself so much effort if you just par-cook your bacon before wrapping it. You can either cook it on the stove or boil it. Both work as long as you keep the bacon soft.
  2. These are great! I have never tried them with cheese sauce though we use cream cheese instead. These are always a big hit!
  3. Great recipe that I'll be using again and again! One hint, though--make sure the bread is covered completely by the bacon or the bread will burn.
  4. I made these for a party and everyone loved them. I thought they were okay. I think it is best not to stretch the bacon around and around the roll or the inside of the bacon doesn't get cooked and the edges get burnt. But everyone loved them....
