These sloppy joes are the best! Do as I do and personalize these by adjusting spices to your taste!

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef chuck
  • 1 large diced onion
  • 1 large diced green pepper
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 1 ½ (10.75 ounce) cans tomato soup
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Place a large skillet over medium heat
  2. 2 Crumble the ground beef into the skillet and cook until brown
  3. 3 Add the onion, pepper, and celery and cook until soft
  4. 4 Stir in the tomato soup, ground cumin, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; simmer until hot
  5. 5 Ladle meat onto hamburger buns; top with Cheddar cheese.

  1. This turned out really well! I substituted a cayenne and cubanelle pepper for the green pepper and celery. I also used fake meat instead of ground beef chuck but nonetheless it turned out great.
  2. These were suberb I had two that night as did everbody else.
  3. Tip: If you are thinking of leaving out a veggie because your kids don't like peppers onions celery etc try putting them in the blender. They get all the nutrition and don't even know it! Also I used 4 tomatoes instead of soup and just pureed all the veggies together. YUM! So many invisible veggies!
  4. This tasted nothing like sloppy joes....we had 4 adults try it and none liked it maybe for hot dogs.
  5. Super easy and so yummy! I left out the green pepper since my little ones don't care for it. I loved the cumin in it! I went ahead and used a whole two cans of tomato soup so none would go to waste and it was just perfect.
  6. I didn't care for these at all. I will eat it but won't make these again. These were bland and just didn't have much flavor. Something was off but I culdn't figure out what.   7. these were okay. I like mine a little sweeter! i added ketchup and some brown sugar.
  8. Just made this tonight and it was terific! What a great idea to use tomato soup- soooo yummy!!! Will definitely make these again.
