  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 2 tablespoons steak sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 slices pepperjack cheese
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, cut into halves
  • 1/4 cup guacamole, or to taste

  1. 1 Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  2. 2 Melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Cook and stir onion and mushrooms in melted butter until the onions are very tender and beginning to brown, 10 to 15 minutes. Sprinkle brown sugar over the mixture and continue cooking until the onions caramelize, 5 to 10 minutes more; remove from heat and set aside.
  3. 3 Mix ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, horseradish, steak sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, dried onion, salt, and black pepper in a bowl; shape into 4 patties about 6 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick.

    excellent hamburgers even without the sugar, bacon and cheese. I used gluten free bread crumbs and it made absolutely no difference in the taste. even those on a special diet can enjoy these.
