Classic tomato and basil bruschetta get a zesty update with old style mustard.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 4 slices ciabatta or French bread
  • 2 cloves garlic, halved lengthwise
  • ½ onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 medium (blank)s Italian tomatoes, diced
  • 4 leaves basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Maille® Old Style Mustard

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Toast the bread in the oven
  2. 2 Rub the bread with the garlic and top with a drizzle of olive oil
  3. 3 In a bowl, stir tomatoes, onion and Maille® Old Style mustard
  4. 4 Spread preparation on the slices of toasted bread
  5. 5 Add olive oil, salt and pepper, and garnish with chopped basil.

  1. We weren't fans of the mustard
  2. this was so good left the mustard out as we didn't have any and used dried basil and put under the broiler on a middle rack for 10 minutes approx and served with fresh grated romano
  3. This was a good recipe - I like the mustard in it. Although the red onion was too strong for me. I would use a third to a quarter the amount of onion. All in all, I would definitely recommend this recipe to someone who wants a good, classic Brushetta.
