Make this 30-minute skillet dinner featuring pasta, chicken, Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ creamy three cheese cooking sauce and Old El Paso® diced green chiles–perfect for southwestern meals.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2 cups rotini pasta
  • 2 cups cubed deli rotisserie chicken
  • 1 (9 ounce) pouch Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ creamy three cheese cooking sauce
  • 1 (4.5 ounce) can Old El Paso® diced green chiles, undrained
  • 1 cup shredded taco-flavored cheese
  • ½ teaspoon Diced red bell pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Sliced ripe olives
  • ½ tablespoon Tortilla chips

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 In 12-inch skillet, heat 3 cups water to boiling; add pasta. Cook 8 to 9 minutes or until pasta is tender; drain and return to skillet.
  2. 2 Add chicken, cooking sauce and chiles; heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover; let stand 3 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with bell pepper, olives and tortilla chips.

Chef's Notes

For on-hand convenience, purchase a rotisserie chicken, and remove all the meat. Chop and place 2-cup portions in resealable freezer plastic bags. Keep frozen until you need them; Change it up with a different pasta shape like penne or ziti.


  1. It was ok - but really bland and I think it needs a bit of a healthy improvement. I added in a bag of frozen spinach and spiced it up with some Hot Shot (a black and red pepper blend). I think hot sauce tomatoes broccoli...all could be added to make this more interesting.
  2. DELICIOUS and so easy to make especially for a weeknight dinner. Will definitely be making this one again!!
  3. My family really liked this it was simple and quick. Didn't change one thing. And didn't have any left at all. I guess this made my family super happy!
  4. Made this with ground turkey instead of chicken. Thought the flavor was OK...a bit bland...but easy and quick weeknight meal.

  6. I really have to admit I went into this recipe not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised! Of course I tweaked it to my tastes.   7. Good easy and quick. Used hot diced green chiles in place of regular diced green chiles. Garnished with diced tomatoes.
  8. This was a good quick and easy meal that would be great on a weeknight. I used penne pasta because that is what I had on hand. Since I didn't have taco flavored cheese I used shredded cheddar and about a tablespoon of taco seasoning.
  9. We really enjoyed this. I followed the recipe and added some red pepper tomato and chips to garnish.
