HERSHEY’S Cookies ‘N’ Creme Baking Pieces and decadent cream cheese glaze will keep guests coming back for another slice.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Cream Cheese Filling (recipe follows)
  • ½ cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 ¾ cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup HERSHEY'S® SPECIAL DARK Cocoa
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups dairy sour cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 (9 ounce) package HERSHEY'S® Cookies 'N' Creme Baking Pieces, divided
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 12-cup fluted tube pan.
  2. 2 Prepare CREAM CHEESE FILLING; set aside.
  3. 3 Beat butter and granulated sugar in bowl until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; add to butter mixture alternately with sour cream, beat well. Pour into prepared pan. Spoon cream cheese filling over cake batter.
  4. 4 Bake 60 - 65 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely. Prepare CREAM CHEESE GLAZE; spread over top of cake, allowing glaze to run down sides. Garnish with reserved baking pieces. Cover; refrigerate leftover cake.
  5. 5 CREAM CHEESE FILLING: Set aside 1/3 cup baking pieces for garnish. Separate remaining white chips and cookies. Beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, vanilla and salt in small bowl until smooth and creamy. Place white chips in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at Medium (50%) 30 seconds; stir. If necessary, microwave at Medium an additional 10 seconds at a time, stirring after each heating until chips are melted and smooth when stirred. Blend melted chips into cheese mixture, fold in chocolate cookies pieces.
  6. 6 CREAM CHEESE GLAZE: Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in small bowl until smooth.

  1. Overall, the cake is good and moist. The directions can be a bit difficult for inexperienced bakers.
  2. Hmm. Not a fan. The cream cheese part being on the top got overdone before the middle of the cake with done. The flavors were good though. I think perhaps a person should make a "tunnel" in the middle of the cake and put the cream cheese there.

  4. Excellent. Followed the recipe and directions as listed and it turned out perfect. Step 5 the directions for the cream cheese filling should be moved up to step 2 but it was obvious. The cake is heavy and dense and super tasty. It is soft and moist and very chocolatey. Great for show and flavor.
  5. The recipe is truly confusing. Step 2 says filling to follow then Step 5 tells you how to mix it. No mention of cookies or the chips. Someone needs to reconfigure this recipe then resubmit

  7. The recipe is unclear about when and how you deal with the cream cheese filling: do you cook it after you fill the cake up with it or put in the fridge to set? There seems to be a step missing. It looks cooked in the photo???
