This scrumptious salad is the best tasting broccoli salad, and the dressing really makes it.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 pound fresh broccoli, cut into florets
  • ½ small red onion, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Place bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain bacon slices on paper towels; crumble when cooled.
  2. 2 Mix bacon, broccoli, onion, and mozzarella cheese in a bowl.
  3. 3 Whisk mayonnaise, sugar, and vinegar in a small bowl until sugar dissolves and dressing is smooth; pour over broccoli mixture. Toss to coat.

  4. I love this recipe! Sometimes I will add red globe grapes or Craisins for a little more color and a nice surprising sweetness.
  5. Great recipe have made it a few times & it's always been a hit! I used aged cheddar instead of mozzarella because it's what I had in the fridge & it was still fantastic.
  6. Excellent!!! I have made this several times for parties and have come home empty! No leftovers. Only thing I don't add is the onions I also have used fresh mozzarella cheese in the past but the shredded works great too! Great ANYTIME salad.
  7. Best broccoli salad EVER!! I like to shred some of the broccoli and add to the mix as well. I've been making this at least once a week since I found this recipe. My 2 year old LOVES it too!!!
  8. I omitted the sugar and instead used one packet of Truvia. I did add a few spices to the dressing to jazz it up a bit (dill weed, dried chives, onion/garlic powder, celery salt, little hot sauce, fresh ground pepper). Very nice broccoli salad. The longer it sits, the better it gets.
