These are eggy, fluffy, and very much like popovers. Passover popovers! A big hit at any Seder!

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 pinch white sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 cups matzo meal
  • 6 eggs

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. 2 Bring water, oil, sugar, and salt to a boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat and quickly stir in matzo meal. Beat eggs one at a time into matzo mixture until blended. With wet hands, roll dough into 18 rolls and arrange on a baking sheet. Cut an 'X' into each roll.
  3. 3 Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 30 to 45 minutes.

  1. This is my recipe so of course I love it but I agree it needs more salt. If we were not serving people who need to avoid salt I would increase it substantially.
  2. Interesting rolls.. very easy Will make again but for me it really needs more salt
