This is an old one that has been around for a long time.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • ½ pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans
  • 1 (16 ounce) package wide egg noodles
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Cook noodles in a large pot of boiling water until done. Drain.
  2. 2 Brown meat in a large skillet. Add onions, pepper, mushrooms, and celery; cook until soft.
  3. 3 Combine hamburger mixture with tomatoes, beans, and cooked noodles in a 3 - 4 quart baking dish.
  4. 4 Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes. Top with cheddar cheese, and bake 30 minutes longer.

  2. Love this recipe and the kidney beans add extra protein and flavor. Freeze's well!
  3. It was very bland as is but once I livened it up with oregano and garlic-herb seasoning it was better.
  4. My family Really enjoyed this receipe! It was very Yummy and we loved the Kidney Beans added to it. I added an extra can of Itilian style tomatoes and a large can of tomatoe sauce to the recipe and it made it extra yummy! We will add this to our monthly menu.
  5. This was just AWESOME. I minced the veggies instead of chopping so DS wouldn't notice them as much:) also left out mushrooms. A keeper for our home.

  7. I love this recipe! This reminds me of the "hot dish" my family made growing up. I didn't notice any lack of flavor as previous posters have mentioned... however I am in the habit of always seasoning my ground meat while cooking it. I thought this recipe was comforting and delicious!
  8. Need to add salt and pepper.
  9. This recipie did not go over well with my family. Seemed to be lacking some type of flavor.
