Recipe Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ⅓ red onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 ½ cups water
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 3 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 slice bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
Cooking Directions
- 1 Heat olive oil in a small pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until onion is soft, about 5 minutes. Stir in water, tomato paste, sugar, bacon, salt, basil, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until flavors combine, about 30 minutes.
