Orange Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients

The following are the ingredients needed to make delicious Orange Cream Cheese Frosting for 50 servings:

  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts

The following are the steps to cook Orange Cream Cheese Frosting easily:

  1. 1 Beat cream cheese, butter or margarine, orange peel, and orange juice until creamy. Beat in confectioner's sugar until blended and smooth.
  2. 2 Spread about 1 1/2 teaspoons on each cooled cookie. Sprinkle with walnuts.
  3. 3 Let icing set 1 to 2 hours. Refrigerate in an airtight container with waxed paper between layers up to 1 week.

    Very good. Didn't have orange zest so I added some orange marmalade. Everyone loved it. Put it on Carrot Bread from this site.

    This icing is simple to make and tastes great on Carrot cookies or Carrot cake. The grated orange really comes through, so you may want to use less orange rind if you prefer. Good icing all round!
