ORE-IDA Slow-Cooker Loaded Potato Soup

This rich and creamy potato soup with Cheddar cheese, hash brown potatoes, and bacon is comfort food at its finest.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1 (16 ounce) container BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 (30 ounce) package ORE-IDA® Shredded Hash Brown Potatoes
  • 1 (8 ounce) package KRAFT Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 8 slices cooked OSCAR MAYER Bacon, crumbled
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Mix cream cheese, sour cream and pepper in slow cooker sprayed with cooking spray until blended. Gradually stir in milk.
  2. 2 Add potatoes, cheese and bacon; mix well. Cover with lid.
  3. 3 Cook on LOW 3 to 4 hours (or on HIGH 1 to 2 hours).
  4. 4 Sprinkle with onions before serving.

  3. I made this exactly to the recipe and was not happy with it at all. It was way too thick and practically tasteless.   4. Too thick. I did not care for it at all. If i ever did make it again which is doubtful I would use some chicken broth to thin it out some. Tasted like too much dairy to me.
  5. I adder diced Ham and Bacon bits with Hash brown potatoes and loads of sharp cheddar cheese. I added the tiny cheese its for extra crunch. YUM

  9. This was so easy to make!!! I used fat free sour cream and fat free cream cheese reduced fat cheese and added a shallot and a few cloves of garlic (both finely minced) for extra flavor. EXCELLENT recipe!!!!!
