These festive OREO Turkeys are so cute – you won’t want to wait until Thanksgiving to make them! Even the littlest helpers will love attaching candy corn feathers to the turkeys’ cookie tails.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 6 OREO Cookies
  • 1 ounce semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted
  • 30 pieces candy corn
  • 6 chocolate malted milk balls
  • 6 cinnamon red hot candies

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Separate each cookie, leaving all the creme filling on one half of each. Set filling-topped halves aside.
  2. 2 Use small amount of melted chocolate to attach 5 candy corn pieces, pointed-sides down, to each plain cookie half for the turkey's tail. Refrigerate 5 minutes or until chocolate is firm.
  3. 3 Attach malted milk ball to center of each filling-topped cookie half with melted chocolate for the turkey's body. Use additional melted chocolate to attach cinnamon candies to bodies for the heads.
  4. 4 Attach turkey tails to bodies with remaining melted chocolate. Refrigerate until firm.

How to Separate Cookies: To easily separate cookies, refrigerate for 15 minutes before carefully twisting cookie top from cookie bottom so that the cream remains entirely on one half of the cookie.   3. Delightful project. I used double stuft Oreos and the "tail feathers" just stick right in the filling. I cut a slight bit off the side of the PB cup to make it flat and easy to glue/chocolate to the bottom Oreo.
  4. Mine did not look as nice as the picture. I had a little bit of trouble like one of the other reviewers. Oh well.

  7. Easy! Very cute. I pressed the heavy back down into the melted chocolate and into the cookie filling -- they stayed together with no problem.

  9. A fun light treat that disappeared quickly around the office (and made a great conversation piece). The backs can be a bit top-heavy due to the candy corn so be sure to have plenty of melted chocolate to attach the "tail" to the bottom of the cookie.
  10. I just made these little guys and all I can say is SO SO Cute!! They are lots of fun to put together and the variations are endless (we tried red hots, M&Ms, and hot tamales for the heads and added orange tic tacs for the feet). SO FESTIVE :)
