This is especially good with a chocolate-pecan pie recipe. Rich! For more special occasions, pecans halves can be pressed into the rim of the crust before baking.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup finely chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup margarine, melted

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. 2 In a medium bowl, mix together flour, pecans, sugar and cinnamon. Stir in margarine until well blended. Pat mixture into a lightly greased 9 inch pie pan.
  3. 3 Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven.

  1. Love this recipe w/ pumpkin pie. I don't prebake it though--just pour in the pumpkin mixture and bake. I also substituted a gluten free flour, and it worked just great. Thanks so much!
  2. This is so easy! I used Blue Bonnett and very finely chopped pecans. I baked both the Pecan Pie IV and Lorrie Sterling's Sweet Potato Pecan Pie using this and it was wonderful!
  3. This was fantastic with pecan pie! Buttery and crumbly and delicious it was like eating pecan shortbread cookies. I doubled the cinnamon for a bit more zazz:)

  5. This is THE BEST crust to go with pecan pie! It is very easy to make & my inlaws insist that i bring it for the holidays- I always bring home an empty plate. I wouldn't change a thing!
