Uncle Howie’s Favorite Artichoke Dip

Cheesy, creamy dip loaded with artichokes and garlic! Serve with toasted french bread slices for a fantastic appetizer. To serve the dip hot, transfer to a medium baking dish and heat at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 20 minutes, or until bubbling and slightly browned.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 (6.5 ounce) jars marinated artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • ½ cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • ⅓ cup green onions, sliced

Cooking Directions

  1. 1 In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, artichoke hearts, mayonnaise, garlic, red bell pepper, Swiss cheese and green onions.

  1. I have made this recipe over and over and over and everyone RAVES about it. I do add a few extra cloves of garlic and have been known to use hot sauce in it from time to time. I also have used low fat cream cheese and mayo and it is still excellent. Thank you!!!

  4. I served it cold because I was looking for a recipe to avoid turning on the oven during the summer. In place of the temperature heat I added a couple of teaspoons of hot sauce to the recipe to give it a zing and it did the trick.
  5. It was good. Not too complicated to assemble. I didn't have any green onions so I just added a few extra dashes of garlic powder.

  7. a really nice dip. Everyone loved it and it was gone in no time. Tastes much better heated. I added an extra layer of shredded Swiss cheese and also some cracked black pepper to the top. A colorful dish with a nice mixture of flavors although a greasy and heavy appetizer.
